Our Hashkafah

Why we built Kenegdo:

Using technology to bridge old boundaries, without compromising on modesty.

"It is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helper aligned with him [ezer kenegdo]."

— Genesis (Bereshit) 2:18

Finding a spouse is one of life's most sacred undertakings. Yet, our Sages (Sotah 2a) teach that "making matches is as difficult as the splitting of the Red Sea." Today, the search for a shidduch has become fragmented between two opposing extremes.

The traditional system carries real reasons for its setup but faces modern bottlenecks, while modern apps expand reach but strip away the soul. Kenegdo was built to combine the strengths of both worlds, using technology not to replace Jewish values, but to protect them.

The Two Broken Paths

A visual look at the modern dating dilemma, where serious singles are forced to choose between isolation and exposure.

The Traditional Shidduch

Pure Spirit, Narrow Scope

A system built on high values, human warmth, and respect, but bounded by physical and social circles.

  • check_circle
Sacred Privacy: Your name, photos, and personal affairs stay quiet, protected from open markets.
  • check_circle
Human Advocacy: A trusted shadchan gets to know you, guides you, and vouches for both sides.
  • cancel
The Bottleneck: Bounded strictly by "who you know" and local community networks. If your perfect fit is in another city or circle, you may never cross paths.
  • cancel
Access Barriers: Can be slow, difficult to enter, and relies heavily on paper resumes and gatekeepers.
The Modern App

Broad Reach, Shallow Soul

A digital marketplace of endless profiles that trades human depth for rapid exposure.

  • check_circle
Limitless Reach: Breaks through closed circles, immediately expanding your network to thousands of singles.
  • cancel
The Meat-Market: Reduces human beings to a quick swipe based on physical photos.
  • cancel
Zero Privacy: Forces you to display your face, background, and personal status to absolute strangers.
  • cancel
Burnout & Noise: Endless, superficial chat threads without serious intent, resulting in deep emotional fatigue.

“All technology is neutral. It depends what you do with it… we should try to do whatever is positive with it.” — Rabbi Berel Wein

At Kenegdo, we believe technology should not replace the shidduch system — it should strengthen it. When guided by Torah values, modern tools can help improve the orthodox dating system without the pitfalls

The Synthesis

The Kenegdo Way

We built Kenegdo to take the pros of both systems and discard their flaws. By merging global reach with traditional shidduch guidance, we help you meet your zivug in a way that is modern, expansive, and completely kosher.

Global Access, Private Default

Expand your network infinitely without putting yourself on display. Your profile is entirely anonymous. No names, photos, or contact info are shared until both sides agree.
